Bio
Hello families! My name is Mikeisha Ivory and I have been an educator for over ten years with a background which includes teaching lower elementary up to 6th grade in the public school system. I am an on campus reading specialist servicing dyslexia students. I am married with two beautiful, intelligent children and come from a family of educators. Both of my children were reading before entering school and are among the top readers in their classrooms as a result of my love of reading instruction. From being the daughter of a retired special education teacher, as far as I remember, education has been my life. I also use my gift of teaching and love for reading to teach Sunday school to the youth at my church.
Education and Certifications
I'm a graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington again, this time with a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction in Literacy Studies. I'm certified in the areas of Early Childhood through 6th grade education and English as a Second Language. I'm also trained in the areas of Reading by Design and DIP which are both targeted dyslexia curriculum programs.
